Jeri Wright of The Wright Roost was one of the founding members of NWEBS. She was an active member right up to the end of her life, which was ended early by cancer November 19, 2004. She was a great breeder, who had a wealth of knowledge about birds and was always willing to share what she knew and help out others. Jeri Wright had over 20 years experience breeding and raising parrots. She was very active with the American Federation of Aviculture, having served as Northwest Regional Vice-president and AFA Washington state coordinator/legislative liason. Jeri was twice past president and board member of the Northwest Exotic Bird Society, and a regular speaker and lecturer at other regional bird clubs and associations.
May is the month that Jeri was born and the club has chosen this month to remember Jeri by honoring a member who has also shown this willingness to help others and/or the club to the benefit of our avian friends.
